Print & Play now available!

After several teachers mentioned how useful it was for classrooms, we decided to make a Print & Play available as a reward. This is a PDF with the images of the cards, instructions, guide and guide for grownups. You can then print out your own copy of the game at home.

Here's how it works:

  • If you have already pledged at the $15 level or higher, ADD $5 more to your pledge and you'll receive the files for the Print & Play in addition to your other rewards.
  • If you haven't pledged yet and don't want the physical game, you can also pledge $10 to get just the files for a Print & Play.

We expect the Print & Play to reach you by September at the latest, but it could be earlier. As soon as we complete the absolutely, meticulously-rendered, finalized designs, we'll send them your way.

The Final 44!

Meanwhile, we're in the last lap! Only 44 hours left in the campaign!

And we hit our first stretch goal this morning... one more to go! Keep getting the word out, and we'll get there!

In Other Crowdfunding News

I had a fantastic chat with the founder of Robiis yesterday. Their goal is to help all kids get into coding, especially girls. To do it, they built a robot that syncs with your phone and allows your 6-10 year-old to solve puzzles through coding. I'm hoping to visit their studio next week and see more, but I wanted to give them a shout-out here, since they have a (non-Kickstarter) crowdfunding campaign happening now, and I think a lot of backers of Tiny Polka Dot might find this as interesting as I do.

Check them out here.

We made it!!

We just hit our goal! Tiny Polka Dot is now officially a thing. We're very excited.

Thanks for all your support! We're going to have some stretch goals laid out soon, so the game can be even better. But for now, a sigh of relief, and a smile of happiness. We made it!

Stretch goals, and a mess of press
over 8 years ago – Mon, May 16, 2016 at 04:27:53 AM

Huge thanks to all of our marvelous backers for getting us to our goal yesterday!!

And now, onward! Our campaign has been on a tear these past few days. We want to keep up the momentum. For that we'll need you. Here's some extra incentive:

Stretch Goals!

We're keeping it simple. Currently, Tiny Polka Dot comes with instructions for 12 games to play with the cards.

  • Help us raise $25,000, and we'll create three more Tiny Polka Dot games, for a total of 15.
  •  Get us to $30,000, and we'll create another three games, for a total of 18.

Helping is easy. Just post our campaign on social media, and tell your friends and colleagues about the game.

The Forbes Tiny Polka Dot Puzzle

Forbes Features Tiny Polka Dot

Check out this write up of Tiny Polka Dot in Forbes!

“The number of possible games is really limited only by your imagination,” says Forbes writer Kevin Knudsen. Not only that, Kevin K. includes a Tiny Polka Dot Puzzle and offers a free deck of Tiny Polka Dot cards to anyone who can solve it.

Interested? Here’s the puzzle: “Take two suits–that’s 22 cards, with 0 – 10 each occurring twice. The puzzle is to make a pyramid using 10 cards of those 22 cards, so that each number in the pyramid is the sum of the two below it. Here’s a near-solution: every card is the sum of the two dots below it; the only problem is that there’s no third 1 to go in the last space on the bottom. (Excess cards are on the right.)”

Can you solve the TPD Pyramid Puzzle?
Can you solve the TPD Pyramid Puzzle?

You can do this puzzle with pencil and paper too. Can you figure it out? Read the article, contact Kevin, and claim your prize!
(Can't figure it out? Try working on it with your friends and kids.)

Meanwhile, we continue highlighting Kickstarter campaigns we love by featuring Mitz Accessories’s Gender Equal (Beyond Neutral!) clothes for kids.

These are kids clothes for girls and boys free from gender stereotypes. That means they come in pink and blue, with hearts and dinosaurs, trains and bubbles. As a man who often wears hearts on his shirts, I think this project is long overdue, and I’d like to see it succeed.
